Many other fans of Dr Mosley echoed his sentiments, all hoping for the best.

One individual expressed their concern, stating: "Oh goodness. My heart hurts with this news. I so love listening to Michael Mosley he brings hope to those who gave up. I'm not a big praying person only in a very private tiny way. Praying for him to return safely to his family."

Alex Jones, the host of The One Show, shared her own heartfelt message on Thursday's episode, telling viewers: "As you'll have heard in the news, lots of us are concerned to hear that our friend Michael Mosley has gone missing whilst on holiday in Greece."

She continued: "Our thoughts are very much with his wife Clare and the rest of his family at this worrying time. We hope for more positive news."

The police, who were reportedly informed about the disappearance on Wednesday, along with firefighters, have been utilising drones in a desperate bid to find Dr Mosley. A helicopter was also dispatched to aid in the search, which resumed this Friday.

The search efforts are concentrated on the Pedi area of Symi island, where a woman reported seeing him. However, the Mayor of Symi, Eleftherios Papakalodoukas, stated that firefighters had told him it was "impossible" Dr Mosley was still there.

"It is a very small, controlled area, full of people. So, if something happened to him there, we would have found him by now", he informed the BBC.
