Top spy author Mick Herron will appear again –along with his partner -- in the much anticipated fourth series of Apple’s hit tv show, Slow Horses.

This is a follow up to their appearance in a previous season of the spy drama.

He told the Queen’s Reading Room Festival yesterday: “Exactly 31 minutes into an episode of Slow Horses, fans will see a strikingly attractive couple eating into a Chinese restaurant!

“It was my other half --- and it took hours to do!” he joked.

“We recently filmed a follow up for series four when a couple leave a hotel and hail a cab!”

Series four is expected on our screens next year.

Herron also confirmed yesterday at the Queen’s Reading Room Festival at Hampton Court that his very first book, Down Cemetery Road, is to be adapted by Apple TV.

It will star Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson.

Earlier, theatre fans were treated to a showcase of the award-winning musical, Operation Mincemeat, as the cast performed selected highlights from the West End show, which recently collected an Olivier award.

The musical is the fast-paced, hilarious and true story of the twisted secret mission that fooled the enemy during the Second World War.

The cast revealed it had taken seven years of hard work to get the show to the West End.
