This Morning is one of the many morning shows which have proved to be popular during its TV reign.
Following Lorraine and Good Morning Britain, This Morning aims to take a lighter feel during its segments, but often it needs to address some of the bigger goings-on in the world.
While it’s not often that hosts will welcome politicians for a full segment in the way GMB would, they still aim to educate and spark a debate on air.
Regular guest star Ashley James exclusively spoke to Express.co.uk at the Carmex Summer Party to share her thoughts on the show, and she declared she believes they hold the perfect balance.
She said: “I come from a family where we have very different views. The north/south divide, different classes, political views. I think it reflects modern day life.
“It allows these conversations in a non-aggressive way. It’s really hard when those close to you have very different opinions, these are things people are very passionate about. But I think This Morning is a really welcoming sofa to be on and very reflective of society.”
Speaking on the overall feel of the show, Ashley added: “I think it has that lovely range of light, serious but not too serious. Ultimately it’s a daytime show, people want to be informed. They don’t want to scare people.”
This Morning bosses aim to keep things neutral too, with a mix of guests with different political opinions who are more than happy to get in on debates where necessary.

But despite opposing opinions, Ashley said things are all positive behind-the-scenes, and hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard will be happy around all of their guest panellists
She said: “The fact that at This Morning they come into the green room and the makeup room and have conversations with anyone, it doesn’t matter.
“You can tell when people are paid to do it and when people are genuinely nice people.”
Ben and Cat stepped in earlier this year as they took over from former hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
