Shaun Wallace, famously known as the Dark Destroyer on ITV's The Chase, has confessed that answering questions on the show is a "doddle" compared to his high-profile barrister role.
As The Chase marks its 15th anniversary, Shaun has shared his aspirations for the future. The 64-year-old ITV quiz master has no intention of retiring from his cherished TV role or his barrister job.
Speaking to New Zealand Woman's Weekly, the Dark Destroyer expressed his love for both roles but voiced concerns about the abrupt end his long television career could face, hence he never takes it for "granted".
Shaun stated: "I'm celebrating 40 years in the job this year and I have no plans to retire at 65 - I love it. I love quizzing too, so I will be doing that for as long as I can.
"I never take being on The Chase for granted. I know it could all end tomorrow, and I still pinch myself that we are celebrating our 15th anniversary this year."
His position on The Chase and especially Beat the Chasers is "very competitive", but answering questions in a studio is simple in comparison to facing the sometimes "very stern" judges in the Court of Appeal.
The Chase has also paved the way for new professional opportunities for Shaun, including a gig as a cruise ship quiz host, with four sailings scheduled this year and a recent trip around the Mediterranean.
His celebrity status doesn't interfere with his more serious legal work, however, as members of the court tend not to be shocked when he arrives in his wig and gown.

Shaun said: "They're there for the case; they're not interested in Shaun Wallace the Chaser; they only care about Shaun Wallace the barrister.
"The fact I'm on TV isn't going to give me an advantage or affect the nature of the evidence. I just get on with it."
It doesn't appear that marriage or children are in The Chaser's future, as he previously said he's "married" to his career but did admit that he's in a relationship.
Speaking to Loose Women star Kaye Adams and co-star Karen MacKenzie on the How To Be 60 podcast, Shaun said not having children was a "conscious" decision.
He indicated it was due to his career when he was a "young struggling barrister". He said he "didn't think it would be right" to bring up a child when "you're trying to climb to the top of that greasy pole".
Despite this, Shaun has "never regretted that decision" and has 15 godchildren, a role that appears to suit him as he claimed to be the "best godfather in the world".
