Amazon Prime's hit series The Boys, known for its jaw-dropping moments and staggering plot twists, has sparked a fan theory that could outdo Victoria Neuman's mind-blowing antics, focusing on the enigmatic Stan Edgar.

The show's fourth season is in full swing, with UK fans eagerly tuning into 'The Insider', the penultimate episode released today, July 11. Anticipation has been building for this seventh instalment following last week's bombshell involving the tough-as-nails Billy Butcher, played by Karl Urban, and his right-hand man Joe Kessler, brought to life by the incomparable Jeffrey Dean Morgan (but let's avoid spoilersfor those in the know, enough said).

To get to grips with this explosive fan theory, we need to rewind to the previous seasonseason three, episode 2, to be precise.

Entitled 'The Only Man in the Sky', the episode centres on Homelander's (Antony Starr) customary birthday festivities at Vought headquarters. In a rehearsal for his grand celebration, he demands Starlight (Erin Moriarty) serenade him with 'Happy Birthday'and not just any version, but one with an adult twist.

This is when Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) intervenes, halting the performance and reminding Homelander that the audience will be there "watching for Starlight", not him, reports the Mirror.

Now, a fan has pieced together a theory explaining Stan's interruption, and it potentially unravels a massive secret: The Boys and Breaking Bad might actually exist within the same universe.

An eagle-eyed fan has sparked a frenzy with their theory that 'The Boys' and 'Breaking Bad' are connected, after rewatching the show. "I'm rewatching the show and I'm on season 3 episode 2 and just watched the scene where Homelander tries to get Starlight to sing happy birthday and Stan Edgar stops it from happening... This made me have a major realisation," they divulged.

The fan even suggests that Stan Edgar, played by Giancarlo Esposito, is none other than Gus Fring from 'Breaking Bad', also portrayed by Esposito. "The real reason why Stan Edgar stopped it was because he remembers how bad Skylar singing happy birthday to Ted was so he had to stop it... to me this 100% confirms that Breaking Bad and The Boys are connected, although he hides it well, you can tell Stan Edgar was traumatised from Skylar's happy birthday. This changes both shows so much."

Support for this wild speculation comes from another fan who posits that 'The Boys' could be a prequel to 'Breaking Bad'. They point out a particular dialogue: "This was what Don Eladio meant when he said he knew who Gus was," they suggested.

While some may scoff at the idea, a closer inspection reveals striking similarities between Vought's CEO and the fast-food kingpin turned drug lord. Both characters exhibit an obsessive attention to detail and possess a chilling presence capable of reigning in both a drug empire and a group of volatile superheroes.

Now, fans are left wondering if Walter White might make an unexpected appearance at Vought HQ in the series finale.
