Susanna Reid shuts down flirtatious Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain
PIERS MORGAN is well and truly making his mark on Good Morning Britain; flirting with Susanna Reid this morning and being swiftly shot down.
Susanna Reid shrugged off a flirty Piers Morgan
The new presenting duo were talking about Chris Hemsworth’s radical new look as he prepares to play a castaway in his new film.
The Hollywood hunk is seen looking much scrawnier than usual and sporting a full unkempt beard; a look which Susanna said she’s a big fan of.
“I actually rather like his new look,” she said. “I think it’s something to do with his new beard.”
Piers recalled: “I’ve grown a beard… When I left CNN I went to a Mexican resort and grew a [beard]… I looked like a drug baron.”
Piers and Susanna Flirting
Piers and Susanna seem to be getting on like a house on fire
Is that the kind of look I should go for to gain your affections? The big, hairy monster look?
When his co-host re-iterated her fondness for a bit of facial fuzz, Piers asked: “Is that the kind of look I should go for to gain your affections? The big, hairy monster look?”
“I don’t think there’s anything you can do to gain those,” she replied flatly.
It wasn’t the first time the ITV show’s newest recruit jovially flirted with Susanna.
Just moments earlier, when introducing the segment on Chris, Susanna teased “a new look for a very familiar gorgeous man”, which Piers jokily assumed to be about him; leaving her blushing.

Piers joined the GMB team yesterday
Before joining the show he had lashed out at the “sexist” double-standards that see Susanna shamed for flirting with interviewees, while male broadcasters are rarely called out.
"I mean when I was at CNN I'd flirt outrageously with Charlize Theron or Sharon Stone or Jessica Alba, but I never had to put up with people saying, 'God, you were flirtatious'," he explained.
"If Susanna has a laugh with David Beckham or David Cameron it instantly has to be categorised as outrageous flirtation. There's a double standard about it.”
Piers is hosting three days a week
Piers’ debut received a mixed reaction on social media yesterday, with some welcoming the shake-up but others vowing to switch allegiances to BBC Breakfast.
“I just feel @piersmorgan looks so awkward on this morning. Just settle down and do what you do well,” complained one viewer, while another said: “I can't take listening to Piers Morgan at any time of the day but at 7am its just dreadful.”
But on the other hand, one said: “I like @piersmorgan on the TV in the morning adds good interest and is spontaneous not like the normal waxworks”. Someone else enthused: “In all fairness @piersmorgan is class on @GMB.”
