Many asked Channel 4 if they could provide subtitles after the popular show introduced Croydon-based The Manuels from Glasgow.
Viewers tweeted to say their "very strong" accents made it very difficult to know what they were saying, while others were pleased to see a Scottish family on the programme.
"Not to be mean but I can't understand a thing that new family from Glasgow are saying #Gogglebox," one person tweeted.
The messages came thick and fast, with another two reading: "Need subtitles for this new family #Gogglebox," and: "I literally have no idea what that new family just said #Gogglebox."

"I love the Scottish accent, I love the new family #Gogglebox," one online message read.
Others wrote: "Can't believe folks can't understand the new family. If they think that accent is strong they wouldn't last a day up north #gogglebox," and: "Nice to see a Scottish family on Gogglebox."
Gogglebox continues Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
