The 35-year-old insurance salesman, from Leeds, has been lambasted on social media after the most recent episode, which aired on Channel 4 last night.
A twist in this year's process meant that the male and female participants started the show separately, completely unaware that the opposite sex was on the same island.
However, last night they finally came together - but Simon's behaviour left fans unimpressed.
"Simon on #theisland. Hideous sexist pig. Cannot even admit the women at least HAVE a camp. I'm raging. Embarrassing and depressing," one wrote.

"Simon from #theisland is such a massive sexist d**khead I can't stop shouting at the tv," said another.
Another rather gruesome tweet read: "Simon is a sexist, arrogant idiot. I hope he gets impaled by his own bleeding bed frame #theisland."
The posts just kept on coming: "Simon on #theisland what a sexist, clueless n** head."
Giving him a full-on nickname, yet another person quipped: "Sexist Simon is almost as annoying as Bear Grylls #theisland."

It was an emotional episode elsewhere last night, as army veteran Hannah left due to an intense attack of PTSD.
Despite fellow islanders trying to comfort her and resident doctors Helen and Daniel keeping a close eye, she decided to exit the programme.
The Island continues next Monday at 9pm on Channel 4.
