TRIBUTES have been pouring in for comedian Victoria Wood, who died today at the age of 62.

Many people from the world of entertainment paid their respects to the British stand-up on social media.
Close friend Jennifer Saunders took to Twitter to say: "Cant believe Vic has gone. She was truly an inspiration and had so much left to to give and we won't see it. She was so funny #VictoriaWood."
Author and journalist Caitlin Moran posted: “Seeing Victoria Wood on TV - working class, bookish, silly, clever, doing stand-up, singing, acting - made me think girls can do this."
An emotional Sir Lenny Henry said: "I am devastated - this is very, very sad news. Victoria will be sorely missed.
"Always funny, she worked incredibly hard. A killer stand-up and a fantastic songwriter. My condolences to all her family."

Novelist JK Rowling posted a video of Victoria performing Reincarnation Song, writing: "Watch and weep. 62 is far too young. RIP Victoria Wood."
Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver, who starred with her in BBC comedy Dinnerladies, tweeted: "RIP Victoria. Taken far too soon."
Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams said he had "happy memories watching #VictoriaWood's TV shows with my mum, dad & sister", and he described her as a "humble genius".
Fellow comedienne Dawn French posted online: "All of us, bow down to Vic Wood. There will never be another. Fact."

TV presenter Esther Rantzen also paid tribute to Victoria, saying: "She once said about me 'I don't know why they go on about her teeth - have you seen her dresses?', which I thought was quite fair."
Victoria's long-term manager and friend, Phil McIntyre, said: "Victoria has been a part of our lives as a friend, devoted mother and national treasure for 30 years. She was always modest, generous and undemanding. A super person and a super and unique talent. There will be an unfillable void left on all levels and we will miss her deeply."

Comedian James Corden remarked: "I'll always feel incredibly grateful that I got to see Victoria Wood on TV and in theaters. She was so brilliantly talented, what a sad day."
Prime Minister David Cameron told his followers: "Victoria Wood was a national treasure loved by millions. My thoughts are with her family."
Meanwhile, actor Danny Dyer admitted to having a soft spot for the actress: "A world without Victoria Wood is a sad sad thing. My first major crush. RIP beautiful. 2016… the year of taking the greats."

Victoria appeared on The Great British Bake Off last year
The actress had appeared in countless TV shows
Presenter Kay Burley stated: "RIP Victoria Wood. This, one of all my time favourites… 'Spank my bottom with a woman's weekly'."
Singer Lily Allen remarked on the number of celebraties who have tragically passed away this year: "My word what sad news about Victoria Wood. I can't believe how many national treasures we have lost this year."
Keeley Hawes added: "Very sad news about Victoria Wood. I had the pleasure of her throwing me into a sink last year. Lovely lady. RIP."
The actress died following a short battle with cancer, her publicist confirmed this afternoon.
Her career spanned over four decades, during which time she was nominated for 14 BAFTA Awards and winning five.
