Anne Hegerty makes a joke about her 'bouncers'

FANS of The Chase were left in fits of laughter this evening after quiz champion Anne Hegerty casually dropped in a bit of innuendo on the ITV gameshow.

The 57-year-old Chaser - also known as The Governess - took on information officer Mark, who revealed that he enjoyed playing cricket in his spare time.

Upon meeting him she told him: "We're both cricket fans but you wouldn't want to face my bouncers!"

Her naughty joke left host Bradley Walsh and contestant Mark in stitches, along with the rest of the audience.

People watching the programme at home were quick to pick up on her double-entendre and took to social media to comment on the racy remark.

"Your joke about 'facing your bouncers' nearly made me burst my laparotomy scar from laughing so hard @anne_hegerty #TheChase," tweeted one person.

Another person cheekily wrote: "So, @anne_hegerty you think he wouldn't want to face your bouncers, but could you face his googlies? #TheChase."

"Ah I love Anne, she is so silly. #thechase," said someone else.

But one viewer was less than impressed and said: "Thanks Anne I was eating my tea #TheChase."

Mark managed to make it back to the team with £7,000 but it was Lorraine, who really decided to up the stakes by opting for £48,000 and a step closer to the Chaser.
