Kate Smurthwaite: We need to take online hate crime seriously
The comedian and activist was speaking about the fact that The Crown Prosecution Service had issued a set of revised guidelines to tackle the problem of abuse on social media.
Kate told the camera: “There was a time when you could just say switch it [social media] off…that is long gone!
“It’s simply not possible these days to be engaged with modern society and your friends without being online.
“So, we need to make sure that we take what happens online seriously."

Why not close some buttons on the jacket?
Despite her words though, all attention was quickly drawn to her lacy red bra, which was clearly visible underneath her unbuttoned sleeveless denim jacket.
It didn’t take long for people watching at home to discuss Kate’s choice of attire on social media, with viewers taking to Twitter to point out that she should be more covered up for such a segment.
One person posted: "@SkyNews I love that the feminist activist @katesmurthwaite has her bra and t**s out on live tv... how ironic! #Feminism #nicebra.”
