Our Girl season 4 spoilers: Major character DEAD in Captain James shocker
OUR GIRL season four aired episode five tonight and it featured a completely unexpected twist involving lead characters Georgie Lane and Captain Charlie James as one favourite was killed in a horrific scene. Who died and what comes next?
Our Girl: Bones gets blown up
Last week’s episode of the BBC military hit saw viewers in uproar over the budding chemistry between Georgie (played by Michelle Keegan) and Captain James (Ben Alridge).
Still mourning over the loss of Molly Dawes (Lacey Turner) from seasons one and two of the series, viewers begged producers not to split up their favourite married couple Molly and Captain James.
But tonight saw even more twists as the new Captain Bones (Olly Rix) made it clear he was pulling no punches with the soldiers.
‘2 Section’ were first hit with a newcomer, who was quickly given the nickname Ruby, leaving the other recruits forced to accept their jobs could be on the line.
It turned out Bones was simply trying to kick the team into shape for a special unveiling in front of the Bangladeshi army.
Following a rollercoaster of an episode, it appeared the group were settled once more until Bones noticed a suspicious-looking man leaving behind a package at the group’s garden party dinner.
Realising his only option was to grab the bomb and run, Captain Bones started screaming at the soldiers to get everyone else to safety.
In an uncomfortable slow-motion scene, viewers watched as Captain Bones was caught in the detonation in front of their very eyes.
Leaving behind nothing but ash, a poignant moment then saw Georgie discover the Captain’s medals lying across the grass.
But the shocks kept coming, as the death of Captain Bones meant James returned to the fold.
THREE EPISODES THAT’S ALL BONES GOT #ourgirl
Devastated, Georgie had earlier made the Captain promise to stay away from her for fear of betraying his marriage to Molly.
She then told her boss she’d requested a transfer from 2 Section, and would be leaving as soon as possible.
Will Georgie be exiting the series? Or will the pair only get closer on the show?
Viewers shared their surprise over the developments on Twitter.
One person cried: “OMG NOT AGAIN. NOOO JUST WHEN HIS NICE SIDE WAS SHOWN A TEENY BIT NOOO #OurGirl.”
“WHAT THE F**K JUST HAPPENED?! #OurGirl,” another fan asked.
A third declared: “Holy crap!!!! #OurGirl.”
While a fourth reminded everyone: “THREE EPISODES THAT’S ALL BONES GOT #ourgirl.”
Some fans were frustrated the Captain hadn’t tried to throw the bomb, as one tweeted: “So could he not throw it? #OurGirl.”
Another viewer added: “#ourgirl Why didn't he just lob it instead of being the bigger hero and keeping hold of it knowing it was a bomb?”
Our Girl continues Tuesday at 9pm on BBC One.
