Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Lena Headey drops HUGE Tyrion Lannister bloodline hint
GAME OF THRONES fans are looking for theories in everything that the cast are posting online at the moment, as the countdown to the final season has begun.
HBO teases Game of Thrones Eastwatch
While Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) have many theories surrounding them, fans have latched on to another theory.
Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) is intricately wrapped up in the Game of Thrones story, as he is currently teamed up with Dany and Jon.
However he is still well tied up in his family issues, as his sister, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), is still desperately fighting to kill him.
Meanwhile his close brother Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is struggling to stay loyal to his sister and mother of his children, as she continues to spiral into madness.
And fans are hard at work talking about the Lannister family as Cersei actress Lena posted an image on Instagram.
The image showed the Lannister siblings Tyrion, Jaime, and Cersei, behind the scenes during filming in season one.
But the image’s caption is the most interesting part of the post.
Lena wrote: “Now this is more like it. Congratulations to my brothers (literally) from other mothers.
“I’m a lucky lucky sista to these Mistas. Love you PD and @nikolajwilliamcw.”
And the die-hard fans of the show have taken this caption quite literally, as a theory has been connected to the cryptic post.
Viewers believe that the use of the word “literally” hints at a bombshell of a spoiler for the Lannister family.
One prevailing theory surrounding Tyrion states that he is not in fact a Lannister, but an abandoned Targaryen.
The theory goes that Tyrion and Dany are really direct siblings.
Dany’s father the Mad King Aerys Targaryen is said to have slept with Tyrion’s mother Joanna Lannister who - in the books - were rumoured to have had a affair.
Tyrian’s true parentage was also hinted at a few seasons ago when he killed his father, Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance).
The patriarch’s final words before dying were: “You’re no son of mine,” hinting that he knew about Tyrion’s true bloodline.
Further hints at this outcome have been hinted at throughout the show, as Tyrion made a connection with Daenerys’ dragons last season.
Whilst the beasts were chained up Tyrion visited the dragons who acted calm around him - causing fans to believe he has dragon-controlling Targaryen blood.
And if this is true, could it mean that Tyrion will become a dragon rider in the upcoming final season?
Talking to Digital Spy, Sophie explained: “I wrapped shooting in Spain - like, the whole of Game of Thrones. But I remember the first time, when I wrapped in Belfast with the crew that we worked with so often, it was in the Winterfell courtyard.”
“I wasn’t even shooting there, but the director, David Nutter, called me into the courtyard, because he knew it was my last day on set.
“He said to the whole crew, ‘Sansa Stark is leaving Winterfell for the last time.’
“As you can imagine, I bawled my eyes out.”
Could this mean Sansa will ultimately leave Winterfell to take on Cersei in Kings’ Landing?
Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
