Mike Tyson bizarrely admitted that watching footage of Jake Paul when he was dancing as a 16-year-old gave him an "erection" during their Texas press conference. The pair are scheduled to fight on July 20 but as they traded insults some strange quips came out on stage.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul initially said that he wanted to "kiss Mike's big juicy lips", before the stunned 57-year-old responded: "He wanted to kiss me? That's so ironic that he said that because I saw pictures of him dancing at 16, doing that little dance on YouTube and for some reason I had an erection."

Paul was undeterred by the comment but those inside the venue were perplexed by Tyson's awkward comment as they went back and forth to preview the Netflix showdown.

The event continued to raise eyebrows when they took questions from fans in attendance and a child walked up to the microphone to ask which of Tyson or Paul would be better suited to coach a young fighter.

Tyson claimed "definitely me", as Paul rebutted: "Older fighters definitely have more heart and balls and weren't afraid, but I think the newer fighters have more skill and technique and are sharper, so that's why I would be a better coach."

But the kid swore back and asked Paul if he thought that Tyson had "bigger balls", before asking the two fighters for their "body count" and forced the former heavyweight champion to ask: "Where is this kid's mother?"

Three days after the pair squared up, the tone was much darker in Arlington when Paul was booed and jeered loudly by the crowd, as Tyson joined in before the pair addressed concerns about the legitimacy of their upcoming clash.

“Well, clearly they don’t have a high IQ in here, but that’s a federal crime,’’ Paul said in response, before Tyson rejected the idea that he had been told to lose to the opponent 30 years his junior.

“Well, just come to the fight and you’ll see," Tyson said. “Listen, I started Jake off and I’m going to finish him." Paul then shouted in reply: “Hey, I hope you all keep the same energy when I knock this old man the f*** out!"
