Camier all set for crown
LEON CAMIER is the odds-on favourite to clinch the British Superbike crown at Silverstone this afternoon, having put his Airwaves Yamaha on pole for the ninth time in a dominant campaign.
He needs only to finish ahead of his team-mate and title rival James Ellison in the penultimate round to secure
the championship.
Camier warmed up in the best possible way, breaking the lap record in free practice then pushing Ellison into second place in qualifying, with a fastest lap of 1m 25.391secs.
“It’s all gone pretty much to plan,” said Camier, winner of 16 races this season.
“Taking pole here is mega and now I just have to keep it going and hopefully finish the job in the first race and then enjoy the second.”
