Red Bull partner Ford release statement about Christian Horner investigation
Christian Horner denies allegations of 'inappropriate behaviour' against him as Red Bull conduct an internal investigation into the matter
Red Bull’s partner and future engine supplier Ford has released a statement regarding the investigation into allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ against Christian Horner. The Red Bull boss was grilled by an independent lawyer last week as part of the investigation and publicly addressed the allegations at the team's car launch on Thursday.
The Brit has denied all the allegations and insisted he will be in Bahrain for F1 testing ahead of the new season. Earlier this month, Red Bull announced a new strategic and technical partnership with American car company Ford, who will part-fund Red Bull Powertrains 2026 engine as part of the deal. The agreement comes as Red Bull are splitting away from Honda at the end of the 2025 season when new F1 regulations come into force.
As a partner of Red Bull, Ford have now addressed the investigation into Horner. Mark Rushbrook, global head of Ford Performance Motorsport, told Association Press: “As a family company, and a company that holds itself to very high standards of behaviour and integrity, we do expect the same from our partners.
“It appears to us, and what we’ve been told, was that Red Bull is taking the situation very seriously. And of course, they’re worried about their brand, as well.

“And that’s why they’ve got an independent investigation and until we see what truth comes out of that, it’s too early for us to comment on it all.” Meanwhile, Horner completely denies allegations of 'inappropriate behaviour' and says that it’s ‘business as normal’ as he prepares for the new F1 season.
Speaking at the Red Bull car launch this week Horner came out swinging and refused to quit from his role as team principal. He said: “Well I think it’s been very clear and the position of Red Bull has been that it’s business as normal. Of course, the allegations is a process that Red Bull are running through and have confirmed that process externally, but obviously there’s a job to do and I deny fully the accusations that have been made, and my role obviously continues.
“I’m confident in the process and working with the process. I deny absolutely any allegation that has been made against me and yeah, you know it’s… I just continue to work within that process until it’s concluded.”

Pre-season testing takes place in Bahrain on Wednesday and Horner says he looks forward to watching the manufacturer’s new car in action. He added: “I’ve never seen a team more together, or more supportive than it is.
“And you know, everybody is focused on one thing, which is the performance of that car, to go out and defend both of the world titles that we’ve worked so hard to achieve over the last couple of years. So the car is what everybody is invested in, and I look forward to seeing it in action in Bahrain next week.”
