Christian Horner breaks silence as Red Bull 'inappropriate behaviour' saga finally over

Christian Horner has admitted that he is 'relieved' that the 'inappropriate behaviour' saga is finally over after an unnamed former Red Bull employee's appeal was dismissed during the summer break.

The saga has been hanging over the Red Bull team principal throughout the campaign and despite an internal investigation ruling in his favour, the employee lodged an appeal in March.

For a long time, news on the situation was few and far between, but on August 8, Red Bull confirmed that the appeal had been dismissed, bringing a final end to the saga.

Speaking to Sky Sports F1 in Zandvoort, Horner said: "Obviously, it's been a hugely thorough process and, of course, I was relieved with the appeal concluding and dismissing the claim.

"So, now It's very much, as it has been all season, focus on track, here at Max's home race and looking forward to these last 10 races."

Horner was then asked whether or not he regretted the situation playing out in public. Throughout the process, the intense speculation affected both himself and his wife Geri Horner.

"It is a private matter," he responded. "I'm just relieved that the process [carried out by] the company now has been concluded. Our focus is very much on track."

With this distraction out of the picture, Horner and Red Bull can focus on resurrecting their form. The reigning champions head into the Dutch Grand Prix without a win in their last four races.

This slump represents Max Verstappen's biggest winless streak of the ground effect era and has allowed McLaren to move within 42 points of Red Bull in the Constructors' Championship title fight.
