Leeds United goalscorers deliver warning over promotion hype after Derby win
LEEDS UNITED will not get carried away with thoughts of promotion after two wins from two in the Championship.
Marcelo Bielsa 'convinced by the strength' of Leeds United
That is according to Mateusz Klich and Kemar Roofe, who both scored in the 4-1 win over Derby today.
Leeds sit second in the division, point behind Middlesbrough who have played one game more than the Whites.
They started well last season, topping the Championship for the first two months before dropping off.
And Klich is determined not to get swept up in the early hype of Premier League promotion.
I just hope this season is going to be better
"I hope we keep going because it's a really nice way of playing football, but there are a lot of games to go,” he said.
"Last season, we also started good, but then we dropped off.
"I just hope this season is going to be better. But it's a very long way to go. We need to perform like we did in those two games, and we'll see."
Leeds dominated Derby and took the lead through Klich after just five minutes.
And while Tom Lawrence drew the Rams level seven minutes later, two goals from Roofe and a Ezgjan Alioski strike secured the three points for the visitors.
But Roofe echoed Klich in insisting Leeds’ promotion chances cannot be defined yet.
"We didn't finish last season well at all and everyone was disappointed,” he said.
"But we're only two games in. We can't get carried away."
