Arsenal news: Aubameyang reveals sprint test results – Centre-back third, Torreira slowest
ARSENAL stars were put through their paces in a series of sprint tests during their latest training session, but which Gunner was quickest?
Arsenal train ahead of West Ham Premier League clash
Arsenal have been putting in the hard yards on the training pitch as they look to recover from a disappointing start to the season.
Unai Emery’s side are yet to pick up a point from their first two Premier League matches after defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea.
However, the Gunners’ luck may be about to turn as they welcome West Ham to the Emirates on Saturday.
And the Arsenal players have been preparing for the visit of the Hammers by showing off their speed training at London Colney.
The Arsenal squad undertook a series of speed tests during training on Wednesday, measuring their pace in what appears to be metres-per-second.
The Gunners players were also rated on what per cent of their maximum capacity they were running at, with some members of the team working much harder than others.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was unsurprisingly top of the pile and the Gabon striker wasted little time in sharing a snap of his triumph on Instagram.
The 29-year-old, who is now officially the fastest player at the club after deposing Hector Bellerin, also poked fun at summer signing Matteo Guendouzi for his efforts.
Arsenal: Aubameyang scores INCREDIBLE goal in training
While Guendouzi was languishing at the bottom of the charts alongside Lucas Torreira and Mohamed Elneny, there were plenty of surprises further up the table.
Mesut Ozil outpaced the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Henrikh Mkhitaryan while Stephan Lichtsteiner, Nacho Monreal and Granti Xhaka all recorded the same result.
However, it was a trio of centre-backs who really stole the show with some stunning performances in the speed tests.
Rob Holding showed a clean set of heels to Danny Welbeck while Shkodran Mustafi was clocked just shy of Alex Iwobi’s top speed, but which defender came third overall?
