Man Utd news: Star duo look gloomy out for lunch as Mourinho sweats on key Burnley clash
MANCHESTER UNITED stars David De Gea and Luke Shaw looked far from happy when they were spotted out and about following the Red Devils' defeat to Tottenham.
Manchester United have endured a nightmare start to the Premier League season with two defeats from their opening three matches.
Jose Mourinho’s men got off to a winning start against Leicester but have since suffered humiliating losses against Brighton and Tottenham.
The latest setback, courtesy of a goal from Harry Kane and a spectacular double from Lucas Moura, has heaped pressure on the United boss and his players.
Both David De Gea and Luke Shaw looked to be feeling the heat as they were spotted out for lunch in Cheshire on Tuesday afternoon.
The United duo were actually two of the better performers during the 3-0 loss to Spurs at Old Trafford, with neither directly to blame for any of the three goals.
However, the Red Devils’ start to the Premier League season is their worst in 26 years and the Daily Mail report Mourinho could be one defeat away from the sack.
Spanish stopper De Gea, who has only made five saves so far this campaign, definitely looked despondent as he went for lunch with friends at La Famiglia restaurant in Hale Village.
Meanwhile, Shaw was also spotted in the Cheshire hotspot with an small group of associates as he looked to get over the disappointment of Monday night.
Mourinho has targeted Shaw for his performances in the past but sought out the 23-year-old at full-time to give him a pat on the back following the defeat.
The pressure is building on the Portuguese manager, who stormed out of his post-match press conference demanding more respect from the press.
Mourinho is believed to still have the backing of the dressing room, although he currently has strained relationships with several players including Paul Pogba.
According to some reports, defeat against Burnley could signal the end for the 55-year-old at Old Trafford – although some United squad members may not be sorry to see him go.
