The 2 words Chelsea and Tottenham hero Glenn Hoddle said as he walked into BT Sport studio
CHELSEA and Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle joked that he was still alive after returning to work at BT Sport yesterday.
Chelsea: Maurizio Sarri praises team after 'important result'
The former midfielder suffered a serious heart attack last year while working for the broadcaster.
But he was back in action last night to report on Chelsea’s Europa League clash with Dynamo Kyiv.
BT Sport anchor Jake Humphrey posted on Instagram: “Glenn walked back into the BT Sport Winnebago at Chelsea yesterday, just over 4 months since his heart attack. He was welcomed back with applause, hugs and handshakes. ‘I’m alive!’ he joked.
“Two minutes later he was sitting on the sofa, with a cup of tea and a biscuit, watching football with a smile on his face. It was like he’d never been away.
Jake Humphrey was delighted to have Glenn Hoddle back in the BT Sport studio
“Welcome back Glenn. We’re a better place with you around.”
Humphrey was clearly delighted to have Hoddle back on air.
As the live show kicked off, he introduced Hoddle back by saying: “A pleasure to have your company and a particular pleasure to welcome back a good friend our ours.
“Look, four months ago we were worried we might not see him again and now here he is in a TV studio with us.
“We’re all delighted but I guess there’s no one happier than you to be here.”
And Hoddle replied: “Without a shadow of a doubt. Very lucky man but great to be back, working with you guys.
“I’ve been watching lots of football on the tele, watching you, but lovely to be here. Looking forward to it.”
Chelsea won the clash 3-0 as they look to secure glory in Europe.
Pedro, Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi were all on the score sheet.
Hudson-Odoi, who didn’t start the clash, was the subject of serious interest from Bayern Munich in the summer.
Speaking after the clash, Maurizio Sarri warned that he will only get better.
"I am convinced he is a great player,” Sarri said.
"But in my opinion, a player at 18 he cannot be at the top," Sarri said.
"He will only arrive at the top at 22 or 23 years old, like very other player.
“I think to have pressure when you are 18 is very dangerous for the player. You can lose the target.
"When you are 18, the target is to improve, mentally, tactically and physically."
