MAURICE POCHETTINO will not be leaving Tottenham for Real Madrid or Manchester United in the summer.
Zinedine Zidane on Real Madrid return: I’m happy to be home
That is the view of Michael Owen, who reckons the Spurs boss won’t leave - as his two main options have now closed up!
Pochettino has been linked with moves to both Real Madrid and Manchester United.
The Argentine has been coy over his future at Spurs, insisting he has no intention of leaving.
Yet he has also been critical of the club’s spending in the transfer market.
The position of their in-demand manager looks to be secure
Mauricio Pochettino last week confirmed he wants to manage in La Liga one day - sparking fears he could land the Real job.
But Zinedine Zidane’s re-appointment at the Bernabeu on Monday has ended that hope for the short term.
And ex-England striker Owen reckons Pochettino won’t be heading to Old Trafford either.
“Some welcome news for Spurs fans after dropping out of the @premierleague title race,” Owen tweeted.
Spurs: Pochettino is ‘frustrated’ in his position claims McGarry
“Surely only a matter of time before Solskjaer gets named as United's manager.
“And with Zidane returning to Madrid, the position of their in-demand manager looks to be secure.”
Pochettino had also been loosely linked with Barcelona earlier this season, but their manager Ernesto Valverde has signed a new contract at the Nou Camp.
Pochettino joined Tottenham in 2014 and has steered them into the Champions League over the past two seasons.
The club have been playing at Wembley over the last two campaigns as they rebuild their White Hart Lane ground.
Spurs are desperate for Pochettino to stay and lead the club into a new era at the rebuilt stadium.
And with moves to Manchester United, Real and Barca now off the table, Pochettino may well stay in north London for years to come.
