Real Madrid and Barcelona battling for Milan Skriniar transfer - THIS is what agent said
BARCELONA and Real Madrid are both targeting a deal for Milan Skriniar in the summer, the Inter star’s agent has revealed.
Skriniar, 24, was linked with a move away from Inter last summer but opted to remain at the San Siro.
The centre-back was also eyed by Manchester United before the start of the season but the Red Devils did not make a move.
Yet Skriniar is supposedly still on the agendas of two of Europe’s biggest clubs heading towards the end of this season.
According to his agent Mital Halis, Skriniar has both Real Madrid and Barcelona following him.
Real Madrid want to sign him, so do Barcelona
"Real Madrid want to sign him, so do Barcelona,” Halis told AS.
“Whoever can convince Inter to let him go will sign him this summer.
“Skriniar is a model professional.
"If Real Madrid want him, they could get him but there are other agents who have a vested interest in taking players where they want.”
Real are set to launch a mega summer spending spree with Zinedine Zidane back in charge as manager.
Los Blancos have endured a miserable season in which they have sacked Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari, crashed out of the Champions League and laboured in La Liga.
Eden Hazard is their top target for the summer but Chelsea may not sell, knowing they cannot replace the Belgian because of a transfer embargo hovering over west London.
It has been claimed Real could therefore move for West Ham star Felipe Anderson, who would likely be a cheaper option that Hazard.
As for Barcelona, they appear set to strengthen their midfield, with Philippe Coutinho failing to impress this season.
Ernesto Valverde has signed a contract extension at the Nou Camp and the focus right now is on winning La Liga and the Champions League.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, are set for a worrying summer.
Not only could Skriniar leave the club but striker Mauro Icardi supposedly wants out.
There are claims the Argentine could leave for as little as £43.4m, while manager Luciano Spalletti is not guaranteed to keep his job either.
