Arsenal: Kieran Tierney shows off skills in Wolves clash
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is expected to heavily rotate his squad for the Carabao Cup third round tie against Nottingham Forest this week.
The Gunners have enjoyed just one full day of rest following their 3-2 win over Aston Villa at the weekend, meaning the fitness of the first team will be tested.
However, Emery has already shown a willingness to use youth players in the Europa League this season and is likely to call upon the academy graduates against Forest.
Meanwhile, a number of stars including summer signing Kieran Tierney are closing in on a return to full fitness and will hope to feature.
The left-back arrived from Celtic for £25million in the summer but has not featured for his new club since undergoing a double hernia operation in May.
But Tierney played his first match of the season for Arsenal U23s on Friday, managing 63 minutes in a draw with Wolves, and could be ready for the next step in his rehabilitation.
Likewise, Hector Bellerin also played in the match and Emery could look to ease the Spaniard back into first-team action against Forest.
And Rob Holding is most likely of the trio to play, having been named on the bench against Eintracht Frankfurt last week, and could partner Shkodran Mustafi in central defence.
David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos are expected to be rested while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is suspended so Calum Chambers could return at right-back if Bellerin does not start.
Elsewhere, Emiliano Martinez impressed in the Europa League and should get the nod in goal ahead of established No 1 Bernd Leno.
Lucas Torreira and Joe Willock could replace Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka in midfield while youngsters Reiss Nelson and Robbie Burton could come into the attacking unit.
Bukayo Saka started against Villa so may miss out here, meaning Emile Smith Rowe could be handed a chance out wide while Gabriel Martinelli is a option in attack with Alexandre Lacazette injured and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang dye a rest.
