Ger sold Yassin on Well
YASSIN Moutaouakil revealed Rangers star Madjid Bougherra convinced him to move to Motherwell.
The former French Under-21 captain sealed a six-month loan deal from Charlton – where he played with Bougherra – on transfer deadline day.
Moutaouakil, 23, said: “I know Madjid Bougherra from Rangers. I spoke to him straight away when I knew I had the opportunity to come to Motherwell.
“I talked to him and he said it was a good opportunity for me as Motherwell are a good club.
“He was very positive about the move and about Scotland as he had a very good season last year.
“I would like to do as well as him. Madjid is a good example for me.
“From what I have seen in training and from what the manager wants I am sure it will be a good move for me.”
Moutaouakil, above,is in line to make his debut in tomorrow’s friendly with a Manchester United XI to mark the 100th year of the birth of legendary Old Trafford boss Sir Matt Busby.
The following weekend he will line up against his close pal Bougherra when Well host Rangers.
Boss Jim Gannon said: “I wanted to get a right-back that is tenacious in his attacking play and I think Yassin fits the bill perfectly.
“He’s an outstanding athlete and very quick. He’s well schooled in the French system, so he’ll be technically good.
“I’m excited to have him on board because our team has been crying out for a natural attacking right-back and he’ll be a perfect foil for the other players in the side.”
