Grassi sets sights high
Aberdeen have struggled so far this season but new signing Davide Grassi is confident they will soon turn the corner, with tomorrow’s game at Falkirk the ideal opportunity.
And he insisted third place in the SPL is a realistic target for Mark McGhee’s team.
“We have a good team here and I have been impressed,” said the 23-year-old Italian, above.
“I accept it will be hard to finish ahead of the big teams like Rangers and Celtic, but we can certainly go for third and we have the team to achieve that.” That puts him at odds with McGhee who recently declared that his squad wasn’t strong enough to finish just behind the Old Firm.
But the former Parma defender reckons he has seen enough already – he made his debut as a substitute in the recent 0-0 draw with Motherwell – to be more confident.
He added: “The football here is very fast and physical.
“But I have seen enough to know we can push to near the top of the table.”
