Best foot forward
COVENTRY 3SHEFFIELD UTD 2
Sheffield United were put to the sword as they lost their unbeaten record at the Ricoh Arena.
Kevin Blackwell’s side pulled themselves back from a goal down only to be punished twice in the second half.
Coventry striker Leon Best put the hosts in front in the 12th minute, powering home a shot from inside the area for his third of the season.
But Jamie Ward found his way round Marcus Hall and produced a stunning left-foot shot from 25 yards to level.
The Blades should have put themselves in front in first-half injury time when skipper Chris Morgan headed down to Nick Mongtomery, but the midfielder could not connect four yards out.
Montgomery was the villain again in the 51st minute as his mis-kick put Michael McIndoe in on the left and his cross was swept home by Clinton Morrison.
Coventry made sure on the hour when Martin Cranie headed his first goal for the club from McIndoe’s corner but nerves were frayed by James Harper’s strike.
