Ole Gunnar Solskjaer mocked for doing what Man Utd fans long criticised Liverpool for
Liverpool and Manchester United have traded places in the Premier League standings over the past few years.
Man Utd: Solskjaer says 'anything can happen' in the title race
Liverpool icon John Barnes has accused Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of living in the past - something Manchester United fans often criticised the Reds of doing before Jurgen Klopp's arrival. Liverpool were once regarded as the top dogs in English football, sweeping teams away in the 1970s and 1980s.
But their success came to a sudden halt as the Premier League was introduced with Sir Alex Ferguson going on to build a dynasty at Old Trafford.
Liverpool fans could only watch on as United won Premier League title after Premier League title.
There was some success under Gerard Houllier and Rafael Benitez, but supporters were often accused of harping back to having won 18 league titles.
Those days of looking back are long gone now though with Klopp leading Liverpool to glory in the English top flight last season and are once again favourites to defend their crown this campaign.

United meanwhile are still rebuilding since Ferguson retired in 2013.
Solskjaer has had mixed results since taking charge, but Barnes believes the United boss has not yet found his own identity at the club.
"He likes to talk about the old Manchester United way, which doesn't exist anymore and he can't go back," he said on Premier League Daily.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jurgen Klopp agree over Premier League change
"When their dynasty ended and any manager who came in, they were under pressure to play 'the Liverpool way'.
"Managers have been under pressure in the past to recreate that.
"Manchester United are doing the same thing since Fergie left.
"When [Louis] Van Gaal, who won the Champions League and was a great manager, they should have said, 'what do you want to do?'
"He wasn't allowed to do that and Mourinho was the same and now Ole, when he first came in he wanted to get back to that.
"But you have to stamp your own authority and philosophy, which Jurgen Klopp has done.
"'Forget about Liverpool did, this is what I'm going to do'.
"So I'm not sure what his [Solskjaer] philosophy is.
He added: "I think the players drive how Manchester United are going to play in terms of when you're on the pitch, you do what you want to do.
"That's not what happens at Liverpool. I don't see an identity at Manchester United."
