Chelsea team news: Expected 4-3-3 line up vs Tottenham with key trio returning
Chelsea face a crunch match against Tottenham on Sunday with Frank Lampard expected to make a few changes.
Chelsea: Frank Lampard previews derby with Tottenham
Chelsea and Tottenham are both in excellent form with one of their runs set to end today and Frank Lampard will be hoping to get one over his former manager again. Express Sport takes a look at Chelsea's expected line up for this afternoon's game.
Goalkeeper: Edouard Mendy
There's no displacing Edouard Mendy at this current rate as he's rarely put a foot wrong so far.
The 28-year-old has an impressive record in the league with four clean sheets in five appearances.
He hasn't been tested too often though with the defensive line in front of him proving very strong.
Defenders: Chilwell, Silva, Zouma, James
Thiago Silva has been a revelation since joining on a free in the summer with the Blues looking far more solid with him in defence.
He was given a rest last weekend against Newcastle, suggesting he's expected to start against Tottenham.
Reece James seems to be Frank Lampard's first-choice option in the league and will likely come in to replace Cesar Azpilicueta.
Kurt Zouma and Ben Chilwell are also mainstays in Chelsea's defence of late.
DON'T MISS
Midfielders: Kante, Mount, Havertz
Frank Lampard gave Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic valuable minutes in the win over Rennes this week.
There was also an opportunity to rest both N'Golo Kante and Kai Havertz.
But the midfield duo will likely come back in to start against Jose Mourinho's side.
Mason Mount remains a favourite under Lampard and is expected to continue in his midfield role.
Forwards: Abraham, Werner, Ziyech
Chelsea's front line has also taken shape in recent weeks, although Callum Hudson-Odoi impressed against Rennes.
Olivier Giroud also proved his worth with a late winner, but Lampard is expected to go with the tried and tested front three.
Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner have looked dangerous in recent weeks and should start.
Hakim Ziyech was given a good amount of rest against Rennes, making just a 15-minute cameo, and will likely start against Spurs.
