Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been called out for "patronising" Manchester United ahead of Monday's match at Old Trafford. Klopp launched a defence of Erik ten Hag's side at his press conference on Friday.
The German hit out at former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor, who tore into United during their 4-0 loss at Brentford last weekend. Klopp said Agbonlahor was wrong to be so damning in his criticism.
But former Chelsea duo Jason Cundy and Carlton Cole have given their reaction to Klopp's comments. Cundy says Klopp would actually have been laughing at Agbonlahor's rant and would have loved what he heard.
Cundy said on talkSPORT: "Jurgen Klopp just being very smart and clever about choosing his words and the language he's choosing about Manchester United. Bigging them up, defending them, that's what he's done there.

"He's tried to come out and defend Manchester United, on the eve of a game that he can ill-afford to lose himself by the way.
"He couldn't care less. I bet he was sitting in his car: 'Ha, ha, ha, ha'. I bet he was loving it. It's patronising from Klopp."
Former England striker Cole agreed and claimed it was a new low for United to be defended by Klopp. Cole said: "The worst thing about it, this is not a dig at Man U, this is unheard of of a Liverpool, a rival manager, coming out to protect Manchester United. He was loving it.
"How low does Man United have to go for a Liverpool manager to come out and protect them? That is a joke, it's patronising."

The pundits were reacting to Klopp's comments that he almost called talkSPORT to disagree with Agbonlahor. Klopp said: "I drove home, after watching the first half here, and listened to talkSPORT and Gabby [Agbonlahor].
"He lost against us 6-0 in my first year. I couldn't remember him as a mentality monster on the pitch, but what he said about United on that show, I was close to calling in.
"I was close to calling in to tell him 'you have forgotten completely that you have been a player'. It was unbelievable. If any ex-players are already like this, then you can imagine how everything else is going."
