Arsenal star Bukayo Saka was in positive spirits as he returned to the Gunners dressing room after being away on international duty with England. The winger joined up with Gareth Southgate’s squad as they faced Italy and Germany in the Nations League, and was named England Player of the Year after a breakthrough campaign.
Saka was in the Arsenal dressing room when he posted a video to Instagram to show the luxury customised Montblanc pen he received from Jesus, with the England man’s name on the red pen. “What a gift!” Saka wrote. “I look forward to my next one when I win again.” The message suggests that Jesus may have gifted Saka the personalised pen after losing a game or challenge, or it could have been for the England international’s birthday earlier this month.
The gift was from the Great Characters line and pays tribute to legendary Ferrari driver Enzo Ferrari and the figurehead was pictured on the front of the box that Saka received. The Italian bears a resemblance to former Gunners playmaker Mesut Ozil, and many fans that saw the social media post thought that Jesus’ gift had a picture of Saka’s former team-mate on the cover.
Whether the Brazilian striker was sending a message to Saka with his gift remains to be seen, as supporters were asking the 21-year-old to use his present to sign a new contract at the Emirates. His current deal expires at the end of next season, and there have been rumours linking him with a possible move to Manchester City.

Both Saka and Gunners boss Mikel Arteta have hinted that a new deal is close to being signed however. “I’m very confident that we as a club, Bukayo, his family, his agent, everybody, we are very much aligned with what we want to achieve,” Arteta said in August.
“Now it’s about putting it on a piece of paper. I would like that to get done because I don’t want the player or anybody to be distracted while we are in the middle of the season, but those things take time.”

While the winger shared Arteta’s thoughts. When asked about the Spanish coach’s quotes, Saka replied emphatically. “Yes, I share his confidence,” he said and praised Arteta and his team-mates, after giving a glimpse into his relationship with Jesus.
“I feel like the manager’s always there for me. He knows when to speak to me, it’s not too much but it’s not too little and the different bits of advice he gives me are special and it makes such a difference.
“I really feel at home here. I really feel the love from my team-mates, my coaches and the fans as well. I really feel loved here.”
