Gary McAllister's Middlesbrough move
FORMER Leeds and Coventry manager Gary McAllister has been appointed first-team coach at Middlesbrough, alongside his former Elland Road and Scotland team-mate Gordon Strachan.
McAllister said: “We had a successful spell as players in the same team at Leeds and I worked under Gordon when he was manager at Coventry. We have been friends a long while. I am really excited about coming here. Everything is in place here to get better.
“Gordon has been my boss before and I respect him and his thoughts on the game. And we had a good understanding as players.”
Another former Scotland international, Jim Blyth, has taken over as goalkeeping coach at the Riverside, replacing Stephen Pears.
