Sunderland and Coventry became the final two Championship teams to secure their spot in the play-offs in a dramatic final day of the regular season. Millwall and Coventry had their own fate in their hands ahead of kick-off on Monday and the latter needed only a draw to secure their place in the play-offs.

But Blackburn, Sunderland and West Brom were all finely poised to make the most of any slip up from those above them. A lot rested on Jon Dahl Tomasson's side getting a result against Millwall, but it looked incredibly unlikely after the first half.
Millwall raced to a 3-1 lead after scoring two goals within three minutes of each other. But the game - and the play-off picture - was turned on its head in the second half when goals from Joe Rankin-Costello and Ben Brereton Diaz brought things level.
Meanwhile, Sunderland were showing no signs of nerves on their end as they held a comfortable lead over Preston. And Blackburn's sensational comeback was complete late on through Brereton Diaz in a fitting goodbye for the talented attacker.
Blackburn ended up missing out on the play-offs on goal difference as Sunderland ultimately took the final spot behind Coventry.

Millwall heartbreak
Boos were ringing around the Den at the final whistle and it's hard to argue with their anger.
How did Millwall let it slip from where they were against a Blackburn side who couldn't really seal a play-off spot in the end.
It's still the closest Millwall have gotten to the Championship play-offs, but that won't be any consolation to the fans right now.
Sunderland and Coventry reach play-offs
Absolutely sensational scenes up in the Championship!
Sunderland, only promoted last year, have made it into the top six with an exceptional performance over Preston.
But all the drama came at the Den where Millwall let a 3-1 lead slip to lose 4-3 against Blackburn.
Coventry did enough to secure a fifth-place finish.

It comes as good news for both Blackburn and Millwall.
Millwall are now back in sixth, but a goal from Blackburn will see them leapfrog their opponents.

Coventry only need a draw against Middlesbrough to be certain of a spot in the play-offs.
But they've gone one better early on with Gustavo Hamer finding the net with an impressive strike from range.

League Two all done and dusted
It proved to be a nail-biting finish in League Two as Mansfield came agonisingly close to knocking Salford out of the play-offs.
Salford had suffered a 1-0 defeat to Gillinham while Mansfield took a 2-0 lead over Colchester deep into stoppage time.
A third goal for Mansfield would have seen them move above Salford for the final play-off spot.
