Liverpool ace Dominik Szoboszlai sent blunt two-word message by Erling Haaland after move
Dominik Szoboszlai received a message from Erling Haaland following his move to Liverpool this summer.
Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai was sent a blunt message by Erling Haaland after completing his move to the Premier League. The Manchester City striker made sure to contact his former team-mate ahead of his new venture in England.
Liverpool made Szoboszlai their second signing of the summer in early July. The Reds triggered the £60million release clause in his RB Leipzig contract and swiftly completed a deal.
The Hungary star has settled into life at Anfield well, earning rave reviews for his performances in his opening two Premier League matches. Limited midfield resources meant Szoboszlai had to be thrown straight in by Jurgen Klopp.
But he has been able to deal with the pressure brought on by such a big move. Perhaps Haaland's intervention had an impact on how he has started.
The Mirror reports that Haaland sent a blunt two-word message to Szoboszlai which read: "Get ready." The pair know each other well from their time at Red Bull Salzburg.
Haaland had just 12 months with the Austrian club but built up a close friendship with Szoboszlai. The pair will go head to head for the first time in November when Liverpool make the trip to the Etihad to face Man City.
Szoboszlai had been linked with a move to the Premier League earlier than this year. Arsenal were credited with an interest in the player before he joined Leipzig in 2021.
Szoboszlai has always been a prodigious talent and made his senior debut for Hungary at the age of 18. Hungary boss Marco Rossi has been there throughout his international career.

Rossi, who was appointed in 2018, made Szoboszlai his captain in 2022. He has explained the decision to give him the armband and backed him to succeed at his new club.
Rossi said: "Because of personality and his natural leadership. The most impressive thing even from the beginning was his unbelievable personality, his natural leadership at such a young age, and then of course all this together with his talent and commitment.
"Everybody here with the national team has no doubt Dominik could be among the most important Liverpool players in the future.
"You look at how he has developed so much every year under some very coaches. Now he is working with one of the best coaches in the world, and with Klopp, he can take those steps to the highest level of all."
