Man Utd can sign three midfielders instead after Sofyan Amrabat offer 'flat-out rejected'
Man Utd have tried to sign Sofyan Amrabat this summer.

Manchester United have reportedly seen a loan offer for Sofyan Amrabat rejected by Fiorentina as the summer transfer deadline approaches. The Premier League side apparently offered only a guaranteed £859,000 (€1m) up-front to take the defensive midfielder on a temporary deal until the end of the season.
According to The Athletic, the other £859,000 would have been owed after a break clause was due to be available should either club wish to trigger it, meaning United could activate the termination and not pay the second portion of the agreement. The Red Devils could now turn to other midfield targets - Express Sport picks out three.
Ryan Gravenberch
United’s Plan B option appears to be the Bayern Munich starlet Ryan Gravenberch. Still only 21, the Dutchman struggled for game time during his debut season in Germany.
He made just three Bundesliga starts and does not look likely to play any more frequently this term. A switch - even on loan - would make sense for all parties.
It was widely claimed last week that Bayern held an interest in Red Devils star Scott McTominay. United could suggest a player-exchange move to sweeten a potential deal.
However, the Old Trafford outfit face strong competition from Liverpool for Gravenberch’s signature. The Reds are also desperate to sign a midfielder in the final days of the transfer window.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
According to the Daily Telegraph, United have been offered Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojberg. The North Londoners are apparently willing to sell a player who is not set to be a regular starter for Ange Postecoglou.
The Red Devils are claimed to be weighing up making a move for the Dane, who has turned down transfers to Atletico Madrid and Saudi Arabia this summer. Hojbjerg could apparently be tempted by a move to Old Trafford, though.
Hojbjerg would add some much-needed depth to United’s midfield as an all-action box-to-box midfielder. Especially with Mason Mount believed to be out of action for a while.

Conor Gallagher
Chelsea ace Conor Gallagher was reported as an early target for Ten Hag. The dynamic star has seen a raft of midfielders arrive at Stamford Bridge over the past year, which might have left him feeling surplus to requirements.
Links with United, Newcastle, West Ham and former loan club Crystal Palace persisted. However, Gallagher has started each of Chelsea’s three Premier League games this season and captained Mauricio Pochettino’s side in their EFL Cup clash with Wimbledon on Thursday night.
It would take a huge bid for United to lure Gallagher from Stamford Bridge, but they may get desperate.
