Didier Drogba: Brazil cast-ing doubt
DIDIER Drogba’s World Cup hopes were being kept at arm’s length last night – but the Ivory Coast coach Sven-Goran Eriksson was confident his star striker would be cleared to play against Brazil today.
FIFA and Brazil officials were locked in crisis talks which could see the Chelsea striker barred from playing this evening because he wears a cast on his broken arm.
Brazil raised doubts about the dangers of Drogba’s cast ahead of their clash with the Africans today. They claim it could contain dangerous metal.
Drogba wore the cast against Portugal last Tuesday and Eriksson said: “FIFA looked at it before the Portugal game and felt it was okay and I expect them to do the same this time. Drogba is raring to go.”
