Chelsea chiefs 'angry with player's wife' with Mauricio Pochettino and Blues in turmoil
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure at Stamford Bridge.
Key figures at Chelsea are reportedly angry at the wife of Thiago Silva, Belle, after she posted on social media that it is ‘time to change’ at Stamford Bridge. Belle has been an outspoken critic of the Blues during her husband’s time at the club.
Chelsea were beaten 4-2 by Wolves on Sunday, leaving manager Mauricio Pochettino fighting for his job. The result, the club’s 10th loss of the Premier League campaign, leaves the west Londoners 11th in the top-flight table.
Belle was unimpressed by the performance and let her frustration out on social media platform X. She urged for ‘change’ and warned that waiting longer to make the said change will be ‘too late’.
“It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late,” Belle posted.
It is unclear if the cryptic message was a call for Chelsea to sack Pochettino, or whether she wants change at the top of the club’s hierarchy. Either way, the Daily Telegraph reports that figures within Stamford Bridge were left ‘unimpressed’ by the message.
There was reportedly anger not only over the decision to post the message in the first place, but also over the fact that it remains on the 35-year-old’s profile. It is not the first time that Belle has publicly let her feelings known about Chelsea’s struggles.
During Graham Potter’s ill-fated reign, she liked a post calling for the club to sack the former Brighton manager and replace him with Silva. A fan had written: "Can you ask [Thiago] Silva to coach our club himself because we have a deadbeat tactic-less coach who doesn't know what he is doing.
"He doesn't even understand that [it] is Chelsea football club. He thinks he is still at Brighton."
Last March, Belle filmed Chelsea fans booing and wrote that anyone deriding the team in such a way is not welcome at Stamford Bridge. She also fumed after noticing that there were no pictures of her husband outside the stadium soon after the Blues won the Champions League in 2021.

In a now-deleted post, she wrote: "Today I went to Stamford Bridge and I noticed that the photos changed around the stadium. But I don't see a photo of Thiago Silva anywhere. Why Chelsea?"
Pochettino admitted that his job is not is not secure after Sunday’s loss against Wolves. The Argentine, who is likely to be given cup matches against Aston Villa and Liverpool to make a case for his role, said: “We are not good enough [today].
“Myself also. I’m responsible for this situation. What we showed today was not good enough. We didn’t manage the situation properly and of course no one can be safe. I don’t want to come here and say I am the best. We’re all responsible.”
