Man Utd manager saga takes new twist as Julian Nagelsmann 'agreement reached'
Julian Nagelsmann has made a huge decision on his future amid Man Utd, Liverpool and Bayern Munich links.
Julian Nagelsmann will reportedly sign a new contract as Germany manager until 2026, ending ongoing links to the Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich jobs. Nagelsmann looks set to guide Germany into the 2026 World Cup after overseeing the host nation's Euro 2024 campaign this summer.
The 36-year-old's current contract with the German Football Association was due to expire after the European Championships, paving the way for a return to club football.
However, Nagelsmann has reportedly opted to remain in international football for the next two years of his young coaching career, putting an end to speculation about his future.
According to BILD, Nagelsmann has decided to sign a new two-year contract as Germany manager, which will run until the 2026 World Cup.
He will now oversee Germany's Euro 2024 campaign, the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures, World Cup qualifying and, if successful, the tournament in Mexico, Canada and the United States.
As uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag's future as United manager rumbles on, Nagelsmann was among the candidates most strongly linked with replacing him at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Liverpool face the daunting task of finding a suitable successor to Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Anfield legend's summer departure.

Nagelsmann is Klopp's German compatriot and was also linked with the Liverpool position, although Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim appears to be firmly in the frame.
Bayern were most heavily linked with bringing the highly-rated coach back to the Allianz Arena just over a year after replacing him with Thomas Tuchel.
Reports claimed talks with the Bavarian giants were progressing well amid a disastrous Bundesliga campaign, in which unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen were crowned champions for the first time.
Tuchel has already been confirmed to be leaving this summer, but Nagelsmann won't be his replacement after committing his future to the national team.

Earlier this week, Volker Struth, the agent of the former Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig boss, confirmed that he would decide his future within days.
"Nagelsmann's future will be decided in the next five, six, seven days," Struth explained, igniting rumours of a Bayern, Liverpool or United switch.
"It would be utter nonsense to say that we are not talking to interested parties without wanting to say who they are. All I can say is that it is not only Bayern Munich."
Nagelsmann will exit the manager speculation merry-go-round for now as Bayern, Liverpool and United's options thin out even more.
