Mauricio Pochettino could take four Chelsea stars to Man Utd if he replaces Erik ten Hag
Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with becoming Manchester United manager this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino could look to take four Chelsea players with him to Old Trafford if he joins Manchester United. Ex-Red Devils star Tim Howard recently urged his former side to pursue the Argentine, and if he is granted his wish, several Blues stars could follow in the footsteps of their manager. Express Sport takes a look at who Pochettino could look to reunite with…
Conor Gallagher
Pochettino has made it no secret that he enjoys working with Gallagher, consistently calling on Chelsea’s higher powers to hand the playmaker a new contract to prevent a sale this summer. The England international has featured regularly so far this season and improved markedly under Pochettino, and he could find himself at the top of United’s shopping list if Pochettino heads to the Theatre of Dreams.
Malo Gusto
With Aaron Wan-Bissaka set to depart, United are set to be in the market for a right-back this summer. Gusto is one of a few players to emerge with credit at Chelsea this season and therefore it would be no surprise if Pochettino pushed to continue working with the French defender. The Blues would certainly demand a significant fee for the services of the 20-year-old, but Reece James’ return to fitness could offer the Red Devils some encouragement in their pursuit.

Levi Colwill
United are also keen to sign a centre-back this summer and Colwill fits the bill of being young, homegrown and left-footed. The England international was used in several different roles this season before his injury and the 21-year-old is expected to improve even further over the coming seasons, which would make him a player who Pochettino would like to reunite with given that he has seen his talent on a weekly basis.
Cole Palmer
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made it clear that he will mark his arrival with marquee signings and he could lay down the biggest marker possible by striking a big-money deal for Palmer. The ex-Manchester City star, who grew up as a Red Devils supporter, has been one of the stories of the season in the Premier League and asserted himself as a top talent, and Pochettino certainly would not want to lose the opportunity to continue working with the playmaker given that he has shown the potential to become one of the best players in the country this season.
