Liverpool can sign Jurgen Klopp target for 'just £13m' only a year after missing out
Liverpool could revive their interest in one of Jurgen Klopp's former targets in the summer.
Liverpool will have the opportunity to secure a cut-price deal for one of Jurgen Klopp's former targets when the bidding opens next month. The Reds are widely expected to be active in the summer market, with incoming boss Arne Slot looking to improve the squad he is about to inherit.
Liverpool have already been linked with a number of high-profile names and one of their potential targets could be a player they failed to sign a year ago. Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram was reportedly the subject of interest from the Reds last summer, but nothing materialised and he ended up staying in France.
Things could change over the coming weeks, though, with Thuram expected to be put up for sale by Nice after an underwhelming campaign. The midfielder's form has been 'far from expectations' this season, according to French newspaper Nice-Matin, although he is said to have 'finished strong' in recent months.
The report adds that he will be available for a bargain price of just £13million, which could represent a shrewd move for Liverpool if they can help him get back to his best.

Nice are reportedly resigned to selling Thuram this summer, given that he is about to enter the final year of his contract with a new deal not expected to be offered. It remains to be seen if Liverpool will go back in for the Frenchman after failing to land him last summer, when he was being touted as a potential big-money signing.
Thuram was rumoured to have been a top target for Liverpool, who were rebuilding their midfield following the exits of Fabinho, James Milner and Jordan Henderson. He even received a glowing review from Reds defender and international team-mate Ibrahima Konate, who admitted that he would have welcomed Thuram with open arms.
"I saw him grow, I saw him perform and progress to a [high] level, it was incredible," said Konate. "Even when he came to the France team for his first call-up, I saw him at the training and I was really surprised by his size and his technical ease. I would be very happy for him to come to Liverpool."
Thuram did not end up making the switch to Anfield, with Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo joining the club instead. Only time will tell if Liverpool will revive their interest this summer, with the Reds unlikely to be the only club in the race amid reported interest from Juventus.
