Chelsea are still looking to negotiate a number of summer deals with less than a week remaining until the window slams shut. The Blues have already welcomed a host of new faces to Stamford Bridge but Enzo Maresca is still believed to be keen on making additional signings.

They have been linked with a move for a new first-choice striker to give them more of a cutting edge in the final third. A selection of high-profile targets are thought to be under consideration but nothing is believed to be imminent as things stand.

A handful of players could also be about to leave Chelsea but time is quickly running out with Friday's deadline looming large. The west Londoners are already feeling the impact of having too big a squad after just two games of the new Premier League season.

Osimhen headache

Chelsea's hopes of bringing Victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge appear to be hanging by a thread. The 25-year-old is expected to move on before the end of the month after informing Napoli of his desire to leave the club this summer.

He has been linked with Chelsea for several years but talks are proving difficult, with the Blues making little concrete progress. They have also explored the idea of signing Osimhen on loan but Napoli are reportedly unwilling to let him leave on a temporary basis.

Osimhen is demanding a salary of £500,000 per week, according to The Sun, which has forced Chelsea to consider alternative targets. They are said to be weighing up a move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with Juventus forward Federico Chiesa also on their list.

Sterling drama continues

The situation with Raheem Sterling is no closer to being resolved a week after he was left out of the Chelsea squad against Manchester City. He has been told that he will continue to struggle for minutes and should pursue a move elsewhere to play regular football.

Chelsea are now faced with the problem of trying to get rid of Sterling with just a few days left in the transfer window. Clubs will be aware they are not in a strong position to negotiate given the highly publicised nature of his discontent at Stamford Bridge.

Sterling is thought to have emerged as a target for Crystal Palace but his wage demands will make it difficult for the Eagles to engineer a move. It remains to be seen if other clubs will have the same problem, potentially leaving Chelsea unable to find a buyer.

Five players could leave

A number of Chelsea's fringe players have been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the window. Trevoh Chalobah has reportedly been ostracised from the first-team group after being deemed surplus to requirements, but is not yet close to joining another club.

Romelu Lukaku could be on his way to Napoli, with The Sun claiming a deal has been agreed to see the Belgian striker return to Italy. Ben Chilwell and Djordje Petrovic have also been linked with exits ahead of next week's deadline but nothing is imminent at the moment.

Armando Broja was set to join Ipswich Town on loan but that deal appears to have collapsed due to paperwork issues following his medical. It remains to be seen if Chelsea will be able to find another club willing to take Broja with so little time remaining in the window.
