Hamilton Accies axe coaches to cut costs
HARD-UP Hamilton Accies have sacked assistant manager Andy Millen and first-team coach Stuart Taylor.
Express Sport can reveal that the pair were left stunned when they were handed letters to terminate their employment.
Chairman Ronnie MacDonald delivered the shock news to Billy Reid's coaching team earlier this week.
MacDonald is trying to drive the club's cost down and also believed he needed to do something to try and get Accies off the foot of the SPL.
It means Reid will have to take back the bulk of the coaching work.
Millen, who had previously been No. 2 to Gus MacPherson at St Mirren, only moved to New Douglas Park earlier in the season.
The move to remove Taylor is even more surprising as he worked under Reid for the last four years and played a big part in helping Hamilton establish themselves in the top flight.
