Theo Walcott wings it
THEO Walcott and Samir Nasri fired Arsenal into the last 16 of the Champions League with the two decisive goals in a 3-1 win over Partizan Belgrade at the Emirates last night.
Robin van Persie put the Gunners ahead from the penalty spot in the first half, but a nervous Arsenal struggled to impose themselves and were pegged back by an equaliser from Cordova Cleo.
With qualification on a knife-edge, Wenger sent on Walcott to instant effect and with their noses in front again, Arsenal made no mistake as Nasri added a third to banish the spectre of the Europa League.
Despite the win, Arsenal still came only second in their group as Shakhtar Donetsk beat Braga 2-0 to top the table. There was further drama late on as Bacary Sagna was sent off for a professional foul.
Chelsea ended their group campaign on a limp note, going down 1-0 in France to Marseille.
