Allman writing rock memoir
Rocker GREGG ALLMAN is set to tell all about his colourful life in an autobiography.
The Allman Brothers Band star, who was married to Cher in the 1970s, has signed a book deal with bosses at William Morrow, part of HarperCollins Publishers.
The memoir is said to be an "unflinching" look at his brother and bandmate Duane's death from a motorcycle accident in the 1970s, Allman's substance abuse issues and his relationship with Cher.
Allman follows in the footsteps of rockers Keith Richards, Steven Tyler and Sammy Hagar, who have all recently published their memoirs.
The as-yet-untitled book is due for release in early 2012.
