Spurs Crouch at Manchester City's feet
MANCHESTER CITY are in the Champions League – thanks to the man who denied them a place last year.
An own-goal from Spurs striker Peter Crouch gave City a 1-0 win at Eastlands last night to ensure they cannot be caught in fourth spot in the Premier League.
Twelve months ago, it was Crouch who gave Tottenham victory in this same Champions League ‘decider’ and sparked their progress into the last eight of the competition.
Now City and their manager Roberto Mancini have made it and England forward Crouch was left a forlorn figure.

But he could do little to prevent himself putting the ball past his own goalkeeper, the recalled Carlo Cudicini, after 30 minutes as he intercepted a cross from James Milner that flew into the six-yard box.
City can now prepare for the FA Cup against Stoke at Wembley on Saturday knowing they have achieved their main aim of the season.
