Stevan Jovetic's proposed move to Arsenal hinges on Champions League qualification
ARSENAL'S hopes of prising Stevan Jovetic away from Fiorentina in the summer appears to be dependant on whether they qualify for the Champions League next summer.
The Gunners missed out on a number of top striking targets in the January window including David Villa and Adrian Lopez, and want to beef up their attacking options in the summer.
The likes of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski have struggled to fill the void left behind by Robin van Persie, who was prolific in his final season at the Emirates before joining Manchester United for £24m last summer.
Jovetic suffered a thigh injury in Firoentina's 2-2 draw with AC Milan yesterday, and he is believed to be on the move in the summer.
Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus are on alert for Jovetic, but Arsene Wenger would have to break the bank to sign the Montenegrin.
A £25m price tag has been slapped on Jovetic, and Wenger would have to smash the club record fee of £15m they paid for Andrey Arshavin to sign him from Zenit St Petersburg in 2009, in order to get their man.
Jovetic has a decent return this season, netting 12 goals in 25 Serie A appearances.
