Manchester City eager to press ahead with move for Sevilla's Alvaro Negredo
MANCHESTER CITY are keen to press ahead with a move for Sevilla frontman Alvaro Negredo.
Though the player returned for pre-season training after a month-long holiday, speculation about his future has heightened in recent weeks.
The Citizens, who saw Carlos Tevez join Juventus recently, are looking for a replacement.
It was thought that City would make a double swoop for Negredo and Roma's Pablo Osvaldo, however he could be used as a makeweight in a deal involving Manchester United's Nani according to reports on the continent.
Spanish paper Marca understands City are still yet to submit a formal bid for the player even though they are interested in him.
They also note that Sevilla will refuse to sell for less than £21.5m.
Negredo was devastating last term, as he plundered home 25 goals in La Liga.
