Manchester City to drop Pablo Osvaldo interest to push for Stevan Jovetic
MANCHESTER CITY are set to distance themselves from Pablo Osvaldo in order to force through a move for Stevan Jovetic.
The Citizens had turned to Osvaldo as a replacement for Carlos Tevez, and were thought to be prepared to offer £11.2m for his services.
However, it seems that City have had a change of heart and are keen to secure a deal for Jovetic.
Reports in Italy have surfaced indicating City are prepared to activate his £25.8m release clause.
Though it is thought that Jovetic's preferred destination is Juventus, the Bianconeri aren't willing to stump up the full amount in cash.
Arsenal and Chelsea were also previously interested in Jovetic, but have prioritised other striking targets.
Jovetic hit 13 goals in Serie A for La Viola last season.
