Fiorentina looking to nab Chelsea and Manchester City target Daniele De Rossi
FIORENTINA are looking to sneak under the radar and pinch Roma's Daniele De Rossi from under Chelsea and Manchester City's noses.
De Rossi has been a top target for Jose Mourinho, who is a fan of the combative midfielder and tried to bring him to the Bernebeu when he was Real Madrid boss.
More importantly, Roma would countenance the sale of de Rossi, who currently pockets a salary of £5.6m a season.
De Rossi, who turned 30 this week, was urged to stay by team-mate Francesco Totti, who believes he can help the club win more silverware.
Roma, who have already let Marquinhos join PSG, would listen to offers for de Rossi in the £9-£10m region.
But it seems Fiorentina are looking to hijack gazump Chelsea and Manchester City by lining up their own bid.
Italian publication La Nazione has it that La Viola are monitoring de Rossi's situation very closely.
They understand that finances wouldn't be problem and are prepared to negotiate a deal with Roma for the player.
De Rossi fired a blank for Roma last season in Serie A.
