CONFIRMED: Spurs defender Steven Caulker signs for Cardiff
SPURS defender Steven Caulker has completed his move to Cardiff after undergoing a medical today at the club.
Caulker put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Cardiff, who broke their transfer record by laying out in excess of £8m for his signature.
The deal represents Mackay's fourth acquisition of the summer.
Cardiff manager Malky Mackay had been looking to strengthen the Bluebirds' backline as they take their bow in the Premier League for the first time.
Speaking about the move to the club's in-house TV station, Caulker said: "First and foremost I want to say how happy I am to have signed with Cardiff City Football Club. I’m delighted to be here and excited for this fresh challenge.
"I spoke to the Gaffer yesterday, liked what he had to say and am excited about the plans he has for the Football Club.
"You get the sense of excitement from everybody at the Club in the build-up to the season’s kick-off at West Ham and I’m really looking forward to being part of it."
Cardiff are still locked in talks over a move for Toulouse midfield enforcer Etienne Capoue.
